Leicester were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night in a 3-1 defeat, but despite this on Foxes star impressed.

The Foxes took an early lead in the game thanks to Kasey McAteer who struck in the first half.

However this was short-lived as Jurgen Klopp’s men came back to win 3-1 in the end.

Despite the loss, Enzo Maresca will have been pleased to see his side competing with a top tier Premier League side.

One player who really impressed however was centre-half, Conor Coady who was Leicester’s player of the game.

Coady impressive at Anfield

Conor Coady is still in the early stages of his life at Leicester, but a top class display at Anfield went a long way to ensuring he is a regular going forward.

Defensively he was really busy as he made five clearances and blocked five Liverpool shots, according to SofaScore.

Added onto this he also made an interception and a tackle while also making two clearances off the line.

Coady also won 100% of his duels in the game which showcased how class he was.

He had 81 touches in the game as he completed 83% of his passes.

A really strong display from Coady against his boyhood side, and one which is likely to seriously endear him in the eyes of Maresca.

Now he will hope to be equally as strong in the Championship this weekend against Blackburn in another must win game for the Foxes if they want to stay top.
