Callum Doyle moved position against Norwich, with Enzo Maresca pushing him out to left-back where he seems to have found some form.

Leicester City rose up to second in the table, behind only Preston as they beat Norwich 2-0.

This continuing the Foxes’ rise in form which has transpired since their defeat to Hull before the international break.

Wednesday’s win saw a slight change in system for Leicester as Enzo Maresca moved Callum Doyle out to left-back after recent centre-half performances.

Doyle was rock solid in defence and also attack from a wider position and played a huge role in the win over Norwich.

Doyle performance deserves praise

Using the stats from FotMob, we can see Callum Doyle looked so solid in possession at the back, this evidenced by his 80% passing accuracy which included 11 passes into the final third.

He seems to be an offensive threat too in this role due to his cool demeanour in possession.

But even without this he was so involved in the game as he inverted slightly in possession so he played a big role in build-up, seen by his 95 touches.

Defensively he was a rock too, 100% of tackles won along with four clearances, seven recoveries and seven defensive actions.

Doyle also won six duels in what was a really top performance that might have put him in position to be the first-choice left-back.

He will be hoping he can start in this role once again on Saturday as Bristol City come to the King Power.
