Leicester City secured a routine 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night and one player stood out for Enzo Maresca in particular.
Leicester made it four straight Championship wins by beating Sheffield Wednesday at the King Power Stadium, keeping their lead at the top of the table to 12 points on second place Leeds United.
Enzo Maresca’s side have often struggled to break through a low block and it usually takes them till after half-time to hammer home their advantage.
In this contest, however, the Foxes opened the scoring inside four minutes after Wednesday played themselves into trouble and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall teed up Abdul Fatawu for an easy tap-in.
Dewsbury-Hall then provided the second for Jamie Vardy just before halftime as he slotted the ball underneath the despairing James Beadle.
Not many teams try to play out of the back against Leicester, but Danny Rohl’s decision to do so proved costly, especially given the attacking talent on show.
One player who was praised for terrorising the Owl’s backline was winger Stephy Mavididi.

Stephy Mavididi hailed as ‘dazzling’ in win over Sheffield Wednesday
Mavididi was benched for Leicester’s 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday and appeared for just seven minutes off the bench at Vicarage Road.
It was a welcomed rest for the Frenchman, who had started 28 of their previous 30 Championship matches this term.
The 25-year-old returned to the starting XI last night and showed why he is regarded as one of the best wingers in the division.
He was a constant menace with his footwork and ability to drive at the opposition in both directions, cutting in onto his right foot but also going on the outside.
Mavididi completed four dribbles and registered two shots on target while winning seven ground duels and three tackles, which demonstrates he’s willing to do the ugly side of the game too.
Although he didn’t score or assist on the night, Leicestershire Live’s Jordan Blackwell waxed lyrical over his performance and awarded him a match rating of eight.
He wrote: “His footwork was dazzling in the first period, a thrill to watch. It led to chances for City too. His own finishing wasn’t at its best and he was a little out of the game in the second half, but he was always exciting.”
The former Arsenal youngster is always exciting to watch when he picks up the ball and while his final ball can often deceive him, he’s improving as the season goes on.
