Leicester City preserved their lead at the top of the Championship with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle as Abdul Fatawu stole the headlines with his performance.
Goals from Patson Daka, Wilfried Ndidi and a brace from Stephy Mavididi secured all three points for Enzo Maresca’s side who continue to make a statement at the top of the table.
Mavididi, in particular, showcased why he’s so invaluable to carving through their opponents down the left flank as he terrorised right back, Joe Edwards, all afternoon.
The Argyle captain couldn’t live with the sheer pace and power of the Frenchman which drew him into committing three fouls as the Foxes star ran riot.
Aside from winning a penalty that he dispatched and drilling a strike past Michael Cooper on his weaker left to make it 3-0, he impressed across other parts of his game.
He continued to fashion open opportunities and made one key pass, as per Sofascore, while completing 14 of his 15 passes (94%), two dribbles and tracked back to help James Justin by winning three of his five attempted ground duels.
Mavididi, who recorded an 8.8 Sofascore rating, wasn’t the only attacker who feasted against a porous Plymouth backline as Abdul Fatawu remarkably outperformed his counterpart.

Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu performed exceptionally against Plymouth
Abdul Fatawu arrived from Sporting Lisbon in the summer and has become a revelation down the Foxes right flank.
Maresca can choose to make a deal permanent for €17 million (£14.6 million) upon the expiry of his loan deal and the 19-year-old has already said he wants to stay if Leicester win promotion to the Premier League.
After his performance against Argyle, supporters will probably echo that sentiment as the talented teenager was brilliant all afternoon.
He assisted twice, first flicking the ball to Daka, who calmly slotted his chance away and then swept the ball across to Mavididi, allowing him to grab his second of the game.
But it was his all-round performance, described as “remarkable” by one scout, that stood out.
Much like Mavididi, he terrorised his opposing full-back having completed both of his attempted dribbles, however, he was a bigger creative threat than his counterpart.
The fleet-footed Ghanian made an impressive five key passes, accurately placed all three of his long balls and also made a conscious effort to track back.
He threw himself into challenges and proved how much he wanted to impress his manager by winning six ground duels – the most of any player on the pitch – while winning all three of his aerial duels.
In what was an outstanding performance, Fatawu will hope to follow that up with a similar display against Millwall on Wednesday night.
