Leicester City fans all have one thing to say about Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Jeremy Monga decision

The only player that has been on the lips of Leicester City fans in the past 48 hours is Jeremy Monga.

Monga, 15, is one of the most exciting talents to come through the academy and has made a seamless transition through the U18s and U21s sides.

In fact, he is so talented that some of Europe’s biggest clubs are eyeing a move for Monga amid constant calls from supporters, urging Ruud van Nistelrooy to give him some minutes in a season that is all-but-a-write off.

However, Van Nistelrooy has once again ignored pleas to start Monga, instead naming him as a substitute which, as you can imagine, hasn’t gone down too well.

Leicester fans fuming at Jeremy Monga call

When a season like Leicester’s really can’t get any worse, there’s nothing to lose and in Monga’s case, there would be no pressure on him to come into the XI.

@Birdiex94x emphasised this by saying: “Get Monga on the pitch at some point. Ridiculous to play the same starting XI.”

@joeydra1 added: “If Monga gets minutes it’ll shock me, doesn’t seem like a Ruud move.”

@OJSLCFC stated: “Nice to see Monga on the bench. It’s a shame we’ll be 3-0 down first half, and he won’t get a second on the pitch.”

@JackWhitman_7 said: “All of this for Monga to not even get a minute or if so about 30 seconds at best. Also what does Mavididi need to do to get a start these days?”

@tisdilon added: “Losing with Monga minutes is better than drawing and him staying on the bench.”

@Wilson_1605 wrote: “Happy to see Monga on the bench – should just start him considering we have nothing to lose.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy sends message to Leicester fans

Van Nistelrooy isn’t winning many Leicester fans over with some of his selections but in his job as the Foxes’ manager, his role is to fight until the very end.

He’s promised that in his programme notes, saying: “We’ve spoken a lot in recent weeks about the connection between the players and the supporters, and how important that is, especially when times are hard.

“And I’ve seen enough in this group to believe we still have the fight in us. But we have to show it, in everything we do.”
