Leicester City claimed a 3-2 victory over Birmingham City on Monday night and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reined in the plaudits for his sensational midfield display.
Leicester were at their devastating best on the counter-attack as Birmingham struggled to live with the pace and power that was thrown at them.
Stephy Mavididi, who scored two well-taken goals on the night, was at the heart of everything Enzo Maresca’s side threw at the hosts.
The Frenchman opened the scoring by finishing off a rapid counter-attack with a deft lob and his second goal was a trademark curled finish into the far corner.
Mavididi wasn’t the only Leicester player who terrorised the Blues backline, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall putting in an almost perfect midfield performance.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s statistics v Birmingham
Dewsbury-Hall has been arguably Leicester’s most influential player this season.
He’s the heartbeat of their midfield, the one who breaks lines and strides forward effortlessly.
When he picks up the ball and starts sprinting at full speed, there are not many players in the Championship who can stop him, as the Blues found out.
The Englishman is so good at gliding past the opposition and having the presence of mind to make the right decision.
He demonstrated that against Birmingham through his brilliant solo goal, surging through the middle of the pitch at speed before showing top-level composure to round John Ruddy and slide the ball home.
Although the goal was the icing on the cake, the other ingredients were made up of five key passes, three successful dribbles and one accurate cross, as per Sofascore.
That said, it was his sensational goal that reined in the most plaudits.
Journalist praises Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s goal
After scoring such a wonderful solo goal, it is no surprise to see many rush to praise the 25-year-old for his ability to pull it off, including Leicestershire Live’s Jordan Blackwell, who awarded him a match-rating of 9.
He said: “Brilliant. His goal was of the highest quality, showing a striker’s composure to round Ruddy and finish even while running at full pelt. Then he was always there to surge through the middle and set up countless City chances.”
As highlighted by Blackwell, it was a goal of the highest quality, but it wasn’t a shock to see him score such a goal.
In the Championship this term, Dewsbury-Hall has netted seven goals and supplied nine assists.
He’s thrived in his more advanced role since the departure of James Maddison in the summer and enjoyed being Leicester’s main man.
This was demonstrated once more by his magnificent performance at St Andrews.
