Leicester City were dealt a Boxing Day defeat at Anfield as they were defeated 3-1 by Liverpool.

Having raced into a surprising lead sixth-minute lead, the Foxes ultimately failed to hold back the Liverpool onslaught as Arne Slot’s men came from behind to win.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will undoubtedly be gutted leaving Anfield with nothing but there were some positives for the Dutchman to take away – with sections of the Leicester squad impressing against Liverpool.

With that being said, there was one Foxes star in particular who caught the eye of supporters with his performance.

Leicester fans call for Jakub Stolarczyk start over Danny Ward

Mads Hermansen’s injury has seen Danny Ward return to the Foxes lineup in recent weeks.

His performances however have flattered to deceive, with Ward receiving boos following the Wolves defeat.

Van Nistelrooy decided to drop Ward for the Liverpool clash – a decision that has turned out positively thanks to his replacement’s performance.

Jakub Stolarczyk was drafted in and impressed at Anfield, with fans praising his display on X (formerly Twitter).

One fan said: “You can tell the back 4 are a lot more confident with Stolarczyk in goal.”

“We would of beat Wolves if he had Stolarczyk,” a third fan stated.

One supporter added: “I’m just so so so glad Stolarczyk is fit again. Absolutely unreal as a number 2 keeper.”
