Leicester City suffered their first defeat under Ruud van Nistelrooy on the weekend.
Leicester were handed a 4-0 loss by Newcastle United, who dominated the injury-stricken Foxes at St James Park.
Van Nistelrooy had to contend with injuries to Harry Winks, Wilfried Ndidi, Mads Hermansen, Abdul Fatawu and Ricardo Pereira.
Boubakary Soumare was also sidelined due to suspension, so clearly, it was a significantly weakened Leicester side.
The Dutchman is expected to have Winks and Soumare back for the Wolves clash weekend, though, he faces a nervous wait to find out the extent of Hermansen’s groin injury – which forced him off at half-time on Saturday.
The visitors meanwhile, who have just sacked Gary O’Neill, could now be without a talismanic figure as the FA released a damning statement this morning.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha charged by FA
Wolves suffered a late 2-1 defeat to relegation rivals Ipswich Town on the weekend and the tempers boiled at the full-time whistle.
Rayan Ait-Nouri was sent off in the bust-up whilst Matheus Cunha could be seen at the centre of it, removing the glasses of an Ipswich coach.
The referee evidently missed that misconduct and now the FA have charged the Wolves forward ahead of Saturday’s game against Leicester.
The FA’s statement read: “Matheus Cunha has been charged with misconduct following the Premier League match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town on Saturday, 14 December.
The forward allegedly acted in an improper manner after the final whistle. He has until Thursday, 19 December, to provide a response.”
Cunha suspension would be a major blow for Wolves
If Cunha does indeed receive a suspension, it’ll be a major blow for Wolves.
The Brazil international has been Wolves’ ‘talisman’ (Express & Star) this season, netting eight times whilst laying on three assists.
But for Leicester, Cunha’s absence is certainly a boost in what could turn out to be a six-pointer in the fight to survive.
Van Nistelrooy and his staff will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of Cunha’s charge, which is likely to be confirmed on Thursday.
