Leicester City were back in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday, taking on Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Foxes headed into the tie aiming to bounce back from their disappointing result against Steve Cooper’s former side Nottingham Forest on Friday evening.
Leicester City sit 15th in the Premier League table after said defeat and remain in danger of dropping into the relegation zone this weekend.
But the Carabao Cup had given the Midlands outfit a welcome break from the struggles of league football so far this season.
Leicester beat Tranmere Rovers 4-0 in the second round of the competition before seeing off Walsall via penalties last time out.
They were facing by far and away their toughest test of the season so far on Wednesday, however, taking on a Manchester United side who were no doubt eager to prove themselves to their incoming manager following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid struggled for Leicester City vs Manchester United
Unfortunately for Leicester, Manchester United looked very much up for in the first 45 at Old Trafford.
Leicester’s backline was exposed on a number of occasions with James Justin struggling to deal with Alejandro Garnacho.
Man Utd found themselves 4-2 up going into half-time with a late goal from Conor Coady handing the Foxes a slim hope of a comeback in the second half.
Leicester did show some signs of life shortly after the break but a miscommunication between Caleb Okoli and the aforementioned Justin allowed Bruno Fernades to run in on goal and score United’s fifth of the day.
While the Foxes’ defense will receive the majority of the criticism on the night, one Leicester attacker really failed to impress against the Manchester outfit.
The man in question was Bobby De Cordova-Reid who, as per Sofascore, completed zero dribbles, had zero shots on target, won zero aerial or ground duels, lost possession 13 times, had 38 touches, and only completed 72 percent of his passes.

Steve Cooper will be worried about Bobby Decordova-Reid after Manchester United
Decordova-Reid joined Leicester over the summer with the club searching for some much-needed firepower in their forward line.
However, the 31-year-old has really struggled to live up to expectations since his move to the King Power.
After starting their opening two Premier League games of 2024/25 he was dropped to the bench and has so far notched just 161 minutes of action in the top flight.
Now, after failing to prove himself in the League Cup against United, Cooper will surely be concerned that the attacking midfielder will prove to be a serious transfer flop for the Foxes.
