One of Leicester City’s teenage talents was spotted training with the first team this week.
As a youngster graduating from the Leicester City Academy, there is inspiration everywhere you look.
From those who have departed to ones leaving their mark at the King Power currently, talented youngsters are rewarded at Leicester for shining in the youth setup.
The most high-profile names to have graduated through the club’s academy, certainly in recent times, are Ben Chilwell and Harvey Barnes, although current star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is giving that duo a run for their money.
Dewsbury-Hall has established himself as a key cog in Enzo Maresca’s midfield while the likes of Ben Nelson and Kasey McAteer have also shown the level of talent being produced.
McAteer and Nelson, in particular, have demonstrated to many that Maresca is willing to give young players a chance and that will fill others with hope that their maiden first-team opportunity could be on the horizon.
That is a point that certainly resonates with 19-year-old midfielder Logan Briggs, who was spotted training with the first team on Tuesday afternoon.
Who is Logan Briggs?
A product of Leicester’s academy, Briggs is an advanced playmaker who likes to affect play at the top end of the pitch.
The talented teenager has made six appearances in Premier League 2 this term, assisting twice – once in the loss to Wolves and another in the draw against Newcastle United.
Although the Foxes U21s are struggling towards the bottom, the introduction of Briggs from the U18s has been a rare positive.
He’s shown his qualities as an attacking force and has caught the eye of Maresca, who has drafted him into first-team training sessions.

First team for Briggs soon?
Nelson, the U21s teammate of Briggs, made his first Championship start in the victory over Watford and that is one of seven occasions he’s featured in the first-team.
Those opportunities were born from impressing in the youth setup before demonstrating such talent in the senior side.
Briggs can use Nelson’s rise into the first team as inspiration for his journey which looks promising after being included in a session with Maresca.
Of course, there is still a long way to go in his development and promotion to the Premier League would likely reduce his chance of featuring.
Though Maresca is under the allusion that if you’re good enough, you’re old enough, so Briggs just has to keep on performing out of his skin in the youth team and then he’ll be in a great position for first-team minutes.
