Leicester City’s goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has rejected comparisons to club legend Kasper Schmeichel.

Mads Hermansen has proven himself already between the sticks for Leicester City but has insisted he’s ‘not the same kind of player’ as Foxes legend Kasper Schmeichel.

Hermansen, who joined Leicester in the summer for £6 million has made a bright start to life at the King Power.

Four clean sheets in 10 games shows Hermansen’s quality already despite being just 23-years-old. He also hasn’t conceded more than one goal in a game since arriving at Leicester.

Now while on international duty with Denmark, Hermansen has been speaking about the comparisons between himself and Schmeichel.

Hermansen on Schmeichel comparisons

Speaking to Bold, while on international duty, Hermansen said: “It is clear that Kasper is a huge figure for them, so I think it is normal for them to draw some conclusions,

“But it is clear that we are not the same kind of player at all, so it is a bit difficult to say.”

Clearly Hermansen is keen to establish his own legacy at the club opposed to being compared with the former Danish keeper.

Continuing in his interview, Hermansen discussed the Danish contingent at Leicester.

“We have a super good collaboration, and it’s nice that there are some Danes with whom you can speak Danish,” he said.

“Now Victor unfortunately moved on, but it’s nice to be able to once in a while.

“I didn’t actually have any conversations, but it is clear that I had heard from Kasper in connection with the national team, about how it is over there.

“But I haven’t spoken to him after the interest came, and it was the same with Victor. I had an idea of what it was like, but I have not spoken to them directly in connection with the change.”
