Leicester City have a number of players out on loan for the 2023/24 season, so how are they all performing?

Following City’s relegation to the Championship last year, the club needed to shift several players off the wage bill.

That meant a whopping 16 players departed King Power Stadium, with four of those leaving on loan deals until the end of the campaign.

Upon their return in the summer, Enzo Maresca will have to assess whether they’ll be reintegrated into his squad or if they’ll move on again.

With that said, Leicester City News have provided a loan report on each player including stats that will be updated accordingly. All data has been sourced from Transfermarkt and FotMob.

Leicester City shipped Victor Kristiansen on loan to Serie A side Bologna with an option to buy option worth £12.8m.

It looks increasingly likely that the Italian outfit will activate that clause having impressed across his 27 appearances.

The 21-year-old left-back has established himself as a fixture of Thiago Motta’s side, who currently reside in fourth place.

Boubakary Soumare (on loan to Sevilla)

City sent Boubakary Soumare on a season-long loan to LaLiga giants Sevilla and he’s impressed over in Spain.

The French midfielder has a £12.8m option to buy in his contract, though, Estadio Deportivo claim The Foxes won’t renegotiate a lower clause and in fact are eager to keep a hold of him.

Maresca could reintegrate Soumare into his squad next term, much like he did with Jannik Vestergaard, who was an outcast under Brendan Rodgers.

Luke Thomas (on loan to Middlesbrough)

Luke Thomas was scheduled to spend the season on loan in the Premier League with Sheffield United but after making 13 appearances with The Blades, they opted to cut his deal short.

The England under-21 international joined Middlesbrough in the Championship during the winter transfer window, though, that move hasn’t gone to plan, either.

Thomas made three starts in his first five appearances but it seems he failed to impress and has since been an unused sub in the last four fixtures.

Daniel Iverson (on loan to Stoke City)

Daniel Iverson established himself as City’s first-choice keeper towards the end of last season but since Maresca arrived, he fell down the pecking order and was sent on loan to Stoke City in January.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper has been solid in a struggling Stoke side who are battling it out at the foot of the table.

Having said that, whilst Maresca remains a City manager, he likely won’t be given an opportunity with Mads Hermansen and Jakub Stolarczyk as the preferred keepers.
