Former Leicester City striker Martyn Waghorn has announced his retirement from professional football after an illustrious career.

Waghorn played for a whopping 13 clubs across his career but he will always be remembered by Leicester City fans for his four-year spell at the King Power Stadium.

Joining on loan from then-Premier League Sunderland as a fresh-faced teenager in the 2009/10 season, Waghorn became an instant fan favourite, scoring 12 goals in 43 appearances.

The forward would make his move permanent in the following campaign but only added an extra eight goals in three years at Leicester before joining Wigan Athletic after two loan spells.

Waghorn would go on to play for clubs such as Rangers, Huddersfield Town, Derby County, Coventry City, and most recently, Northampton Town before hanging up his boots at the age of 35.

Now, a ton of responses have flooded in for the Leicester cult hero, wishing him well on his retirement.
