Leicester City snatched a late point against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

Jamie Vardy led the dramatic comeback as he pulled one back with four minutes of the 90 remaining before setting up Bobby De Cordova Reid to stoke home the leveller.

Leicester fans hailed Boubakary Soumare for his terrific display and Stephy Mavididi earned plaudits for his bright cameo.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was hailed by Premier League fans for masterminding the late comeback, as his substitutes paid off.

Speaking after game, De Cordova-Reid heaped praise on one Leicester man and labelled him an absolute ‘joke’.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid says Jamie Vardy was a ‘joke’ vs Brighton

De Cordova-Reid, speaking to Sky Sports after the game, reacted to his first goal in Leicester colours since joining in the summer from Fulham.

“Yeah it was nice, obviously last week got chalked off for VAR but I continued to do the same things, get into the same areas and thankfully today, the composure from Jamie to slide me in and it was an easy tap in.”

De Cordova Reid continued and labelled his strike partner Jamie Vardy a ‘joke’ for his age-defying display.

“Yeah, he’s a joke.”

“He understands when to go and when to stay and he’s always in the right place and that’s a credit to him.”

Vardy defying the odds

Vardy will celebrate his 38th birthday in a few weeks and yet, he’s showing very little signs of slowing down.

The veteran forward has now scored six goals whilst laying on three assists in 14 outings so far this season.

He’s out of contract at the end of the season but with the way he’s going, surely the club are considering another one-year extension.
