Former Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers has been speaking about the emergence of Saudi football, and explained he held talks with a club.
Brendan Rodgers was sacked in April 2023 at Leicester following a terrible season which resulted in relegation.
He has now however revealed that following this he had talks with a Saudi side over managing there.
He had initially planned on taking a year out, however still held talks over a potential move, which didn’t come to fruition before his move back to Celtic.
Now speaking with talkSPORT he has explained why he thinks Saudi Arabia are a dangerous footballing country.

Speaking with talkSPORT, Rodgers discussed the impact that the emergence of the PIF could have on European football.
“It’s definitely something that makes players wobble, for sure, because of the money that is talked about and what it can do for not just the players and their families, but the legacies they can create for their families for years down the line.
“I actually spoke to a club in Saudi when I left Leicester and was thinking of maybe taking a year out. Out of respect, I spoke to a team a couple of times.” he added.
“I think the big thing that makes them dangerous is – of course they have the money – but they have a plan there. The plan is on course in terms of attracting top players and looking to get top managers out there.”
He then continued to describe what makes the nation dangerous.
“What they’ve got is the infrastructures. They’re looking to improve in terms of facilities. Also, if you bring in top players like Ronaldo, these players that are super fit and professional can help people in health and life. That’s also part of the plan, to make health and wellness for people better.
“So it’s not just purely the money, it’s the overall plan that they have.”
