Leicester City’s opponents could have a new manager appointed in time for their game on Wednesday.
According to David Ornstein, Sporting boss Ruben Amorim has verbally agreed a deal with Manchester United to replace Erik ten Hag, who was sacked on Monday.
Steve Cooper’s side the trip to Old Trafford to face Man United on Wednesday in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was named as interim manager however there is a chance he may not even get a chance to take to the dugout.

Ruben Amorim breaks silence on Man United rumours
News of Amorim’s potential appointment has moved fast ever since Ten Hag was sacked and during his press conference yesterday, the 39-year-old remained coy on the intense links.
“I was already expecting this question and I’m not going to talk about the future, because otherwise, I’ll always have to comment,” he said. “I’m very proud to be Sporting coach, that’s all.”
The Sporting boss is one of football’s most promising managers and boasts a win percentage of 71%, guiding the Portuguese club to their first domestic in 19 years, going unbeaten by doing so.
Will Ruben Amorin be in charge of Man United against Leicester?
There is every chance that official confirmation of Amorin’s appointment could be announced before the Foxes’ trip to Old Trafford.
However, due to the short window between any announcement and the kick-off time (7:45 PM GMT), the Sporting boss is unlikely to be in the dugout.
A more likely scenario would be to see him in the stands while Van Nistelrooy takes charge of the team.
