Former Leicester City winger, Matt Piper has praised manager, Enzo Maresca for his willingness to rotate his squad this season.

So far this season, the Foxes have made use of 25 different players. No one player appears to be undroppable.

Even Wout Faes who had started the season in excellent fashion, was dropped from the starting eleven in the Stoke City game.

In spite of all these changes, Maresca’s side finds themselves top of the Championship. They currently sit with a 10-point gap to third place.

It seems that there are no issues with rotation so far.

What has Matt Piper said about Enzo Maresca?

While speaking on his When You’re Smiling Podcast, the former Leicester midfielder was full of praise for the head coach.

Piper started his career with the Foxes. Coming through the youth ranks before joining the first team fold in 2000.

After 27 appearances and one goal, the winger was sold to Sunderland for £3.5 million.

After retiring at just 27-years old, he has gone on to be a pundit with his Leicester podcast on the BBC.

Discussing Maresca on his post-match show, he said: “What he has done is that he has decided to utilise the talent in his squad.

“Therefore, he can come into a big game like the Stoke City game and make six changes and he has done it all season.”

This ability is what is unique about the Foxes and just shows how together the squad is.

Piper didn’t hide his feelings on this: “That is what’s unusual about Maresca, he backs himself and backs the squad.”

Another win and with this ability to swap players freely, Leicester are going to be hard to stop.
