A former Leicester City fan-favourite is ‘in talks’ to return to the Premier League.

Leicester City’s 2015/16 side broke all sorts of records as they won their first ever Premier League title against the odds.

The team and their heroics managed to cement the Foxes’ place in the Premier League for several years following the triumph, which as a result saw Leicester City achieve an FA Cup win, as well as stints playing european football.

Nine years later and veteran attacker Jamie Vardy remains the only player from the campaign, with the striker set for another season at the King Power Stadium after he signed a further deal to keep him at the club.

There is one up-and-coming transfer in the works that will hurt Leicester City fans to their very core as one of their former star players are ‘in talks’ over a deal that would see them return to the Premier League with West Ham United.

Former Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante ‘in talks’ to sign with West Ham United

French midfielder N’Golo Kante is reportedly ‘in talks’ over a return to the Premier League, with Julian Lopetegui’s West Ham United interested in bringing in the midfielder, per the Guardian.

The Al-Ittihad man has spent just one season in Saudi Arabia, however is ‘open to returning to London’ in a deal that would be in the region of ‘£20m’.

Kante left the King Power for Chelsea ahead of the 2016/17 season, where he won a second consecutive Premier League title.

The Frenchman had just one season at Leicester City following his arrival from Caen ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

Will N’Golo Kante still be able to perform at Premier League level

At the age of 34, it’s expected that Kante will be past his peak of performance, especially having spent a season in Saudi Arabia where the quality of football isn’t on the level of the Premier League.

Kante’s stint with Al-Ittihad brought up varied success as well, with the Frenchman surprisingly making a difference on the attacking front with seven goal contributions in 30 league games, however his side finished in a very adequate 5th position.

There have been plenty of cases of players not being called up to their national side following a move to Saudi Arabia, however Kante was still entrusted with a spot in the France side, where he performed brilliantly in the centre of the park.

Wages will be on the higher side, however a £20m deal for West Ham United is one that Leicester City may have battled for if it was financially viable.

It will feel gut-wrenching for Leicester City fans to witness Kante’s return to the Premier League with another club, someone who did so much for the Foxes in so little time.
