Leicester City are looking to go into talks with Hamza Choudhury, as they look to extend the midfielders contract.

The England youth international joined the Foxes aged seven and has remained at the club for an 18 year spell.

He has spent three loan spells away from the club with two different teams.

His first loans were with Burton Albion where he made 26 appearances over the course of a season with the Brewers.

The midfielder made his Leicester debut in 2017 in the EFL Cup, before making his Premier League debut in November 2017.

The defensive midfielder has made 89 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions including a stint in Europe.

In October 2020, he came off the bench in October 2021 against Zorya Luhansk, becoming the first player of Bangladeshi descent to do so.

Choudhury was part of the famous Leicester team to win the FA Cup, securing his first ever career trophy.

A lack of regular first team minutes saw him move to Watford in August 2022 where he made 36 appearances but a move wasn’t made permanent.

Should Hamza Choudhury stay at Leicester City?

Manager, Enzo Maresca, labelled the midfielder as a “key part of his plans”, earlier in the window.

Clearly the Leicester boss backs his man and wants to keep him with the club.

Last year, the Foxes took up an option to secure an extra year, until 2024, before his loan move to Watford was secured.

So far this season he has started three and took part in six Championship games.

He offers something different to other options in the Leicester squad.

As a rotation option he is perfect and would also be more than capable of making plenty of starts this season.
