Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has spoken out about the 4-1 win against Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

The Foxes took an early lead through Wout Faes but were pegged back just ten minutes later when Sammie Szmodics scored.

Jamie Vardy gave the away side the lead on 28 minutes after getting the ball from Wilfred Ndidi.

It was a tough game and the result wasn’t secure until the 82nd minute when Iheanacho converted from the penalty spot.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall confirmed the three points when he scored just six minutes after the striker.

What has Kelechi Iheanacho said?

It was a positive result against a very decent side, despite their lowly position.

Iheanacho praised his side and their opponents: “We started well and we scored, but they are a very good side with the ball.

“We had a tough time in the first half. We suffered a lot, but we were up in the first half 2-1.”

Despite their opponents having a positive first half, the Foxes went in at the break in front.

The second half was better, Iheanacho said: “It was a strong game, but in the second half, we controlled more, and we nailed them in the counterattacks and got the goals that we wanted.”

In spite of this, the Nigerian still had praise for Rovers: “They move a lot. We watched them a lot on the video, so we knew that.

“We tried to control the situation, but unfortunately, they got back in the game. We stayed calm and continued working hard.”

Continuing on to talk about the second period, he said: “I think we controlled it more in the second half. It was a great team performance.”

Leicester remain top of the Championship and have great credentials for promotion.
