Harry Kane has opened up about his loan spell with Leicester City, reflecting on the more difficult moments in his career.

Kane signed for the Foxes in 2013. At 19-year old he failed to secure a regular first-team place under Nigel Pearson.

In 15 appearances for City, he only managed to score two goals. With that being said he was forced out wide on many occasions.

His final appearance came against Watford in one of the most famous games in Championship history.

What followed was the explosion of one of the best English players of all time.

Deadly finisher

Considering Kane only scored 15 goals over four loan spells in the early days of his career, nobody could have expected what happened.

Following him leaving Leicester to return to Tottenham, he went on to make 10 appearances and contribute to five goals.

The 2014/15 season season was the beginning of the Kane we all know today.

Across his career with Spurs, he played 430 times and became their all-time top goalscorer with 278 goals.

What has Harry Kane said about Leicester City?

Playing out wide and failing to make an impact as his side was knocked out of the playoffs in the semi-final, it didn’t go how anyone wanted.

With so many moves away from Spurs, Kane struggled: “There were times in my career when it was tough.

“Especially when I was on loan away from my family, on my own and not really playing.”

As a Tottenham fan, he obviously dreamed of playing for the club and while sitting on the bench in the Midlands, that may have seemed far away.

Commenting on that, he said: “It was really difficult not being in the team. Trying to see a vision of where you want to be and your dreams, playing for Tottenham and England.

“When I was not even playing for Leicester or Norwich. That’s not an easy thing to cope with.”

It all worked out for Kane in the end and in Jamie Vardy, Leicester found the striker they had been dreaming of.
