Leicester City are back in action against Manchester United on Sunday evening.

Leicester have just 10 games to save their season, with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side currently in the relegation zone.

The Foxes are six points adrift of safety, so they really need to win their home games and Man United are no exception.

Ruben Amorim’s side have been really poor this term and look set to finish on their lowest points tally in Premier League history.

So Leicester should fancy it here and with that said, Paul Merson has just predicted the score.

Paul Merson predicts Man United to beat Leicester City

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Paul Merson has reluctantly backed Man United to beat Leicester this weekend.

“I don’t think it was fun watching Manchester United in the draw against Arsenal,” Merson wrote.

“They sat back and booted the ball away throughout the game. Even though they looked a different side on the counter, I wouldn’t want to watch this every week if I were a United fan.

“To be fair to Ruben Amorim, you have to start somewhere to usher in the makeover that’s much-needed at Old Trafford.

“I find it hard to pick a Manchester United win every week, but Leicester are so poor. I don’t expect Leicester to get anything from this game.

“Pretty much like Spurs, United should also focus on the Europa League. That is all they have to play for now. Maybe trying out a few young players from the academy would be a great idea against Leicester!

Merson predicted Man United to beat Leicester 2-0.

Leicester vs Man United: Last five meetings

Leicester’s recent record against Man United is truly awful, as they’ve suffered five straight defeats.

The Foxes have played them three times this season and lost by an aggregate scoreline of 11-3, so the head-to-head data certainty doesn’t bode well.

However, Van Nistelrooy’s new three-at-the-back system, which he tested out against Chelsea, could finally sort to produce results.

City looked a lot more compact in the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge last weekend, so perhaps the change of shape could change their fortunes.
