Stats from a recent study have showed why confidence in Leicester regarding promotion is the correct way to feel.

Leicester City are the runaway league leaders this season with 30 points after just 11 games.

Enzo Maresca‘s side have looked a cut above the rest in the Championship with only Ipswich able to remain within touching distance.

With the quality of players Leicester have they probably should be walking the league.

However to this extent, is a wondrous achievement which could result it not only promotion, but also a record breaking points tally.

Leicester’s confidence of promotion is well placed

According to a study by Opta Analyst, the Foxes have very good reason to be confident this season.

They wrote: “All 10 previous sides to have won 30+ points from their opening 11 games of a second-tier season in England have gone on to win promotion to the top flight,”.

It was then continued that at this rate, Leicester could break all kinds of records for the Championship.

“While Leicester’s current average of 2.73 points per game puts them on course to smash the current second-tier points record of 106 set by Reading in 2005-06.”

Continuing upon this current level of points accumulation would see Leicester finish with over 120 points which is a ridiculous tally.

Therefore the confidence of those around the King Power which could be perceived as arrogance, is rather well placed, with promotion seemingly more than likely already.

Maresca has done an excellent job so far, however it is hard to think he won’t already have one eye on how he can translate his style to the Premier League.
