Leicester City’s unrelenting dominance in the Championship has continued and tonight they are looking to make it four wins on the bounce against strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.
Leicester secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Watford on Saturday to extend their lead to 11 points over Southampton at the top of the Championship.
The goals came thanks to Patson Daka and Ricardo Pereira, who operated as a central midfielder alongside Harry Winks.
In their previous fixture against Sheffield Wednesday, the Foxes drew 1-1 at Hillsborough and Enzo Maresca will be seeking revenge at the King Power tonight.
It’s almost been too easy for Leicester at the top of the Championship and the pressure is off, although Maresca will still be urging his side to create an even bigger gap between them and the chasing pack.
Ahead of their clash tonight against a side who have lost 4-0 on their travels in their last two matches, the Italian was dealt the news that star centre-back Jannik Vestergaard could be available.

Enzo Maresca drops Jannik Vestergaard injury hint
Speaking after the narrow win over Watford, he dropped a hint over Vestergaard’s availability.
“They can be back, especially Jannik,” Maresca said. “For sure he can be back, though Marc [Albrighton] is still a doubt. We’ll see how they are and we’ll think about Tuesday. Ben [Nelson] has done well today but Jannik has been fantastic for us also.”
The towering Dane was taken off at half-time in the 5-0 demolition of Stoke City after suffering an injury and was replaced by Ben Nelson, who made his first Championship start at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Of course, the return of Vestergaard now puts Nelson’s place in the side in jeopardy given how important the 31-year-old has been to Maresca this term.
He’s featured in all but two matches in the second tier and while the 19-year-old hasn’t put a foot wrong, Vestergaard’s presence at the back has been crucial to their success.
Should Vestergaard start v Sheffield Wednesday?
Maresca has previously hailed Nelson as the complete centre-back but does need to improve his decision-making on the ball, and that was evident against the Hornets.
The youngster will often play the easy pass as opposed to playing through the thirds, while Vestergaard is the opposite.
He rarely passes up the opportunity to switch the ball long distances or split the midfield with his impressive passing range.
Of course, those attributes alone should see him start against the Owls, although it remains to be seen whether he throws the Dane straight back into the fold or keeps with Nelson.
