Darren Bent has sent a stark warning to Leicester City after last Friday’s 1-0 loss to Leeds United in the Championship.

Leeds United were only the second team to get the better of Leicester City this season after Hull City in the opening weeks.

The loss ended a massive losing streak which sees Leicester with a better record at this stage than any Championship side ever.

However, such a good run is almost unprecedented in the Championship as even previous record-breakers have had periods of bad form.

Now, Darren Bent has warned Leicester that this could be the start of theirs.

Bent sends Leicester a warning

Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent sent the following warning to Leicester City.

“They have lost twice this season in the league and that was against Hull 1-0 and then Leeds – but Leeds are a good side, Leeds are third for a reason.

“In the Championship, you never get a team from start to finish that keeps winning and winning and winning. At some stage you are going to have a blip and this might be Leicester’s.

“But they have enough of a cushion to have a little blip. For me, Leicester are still the side to beat, they are still going to be in and amongst it, I still think they will go up automatically, it’s one of those maybe not to make them refocus but just to switch back on a little bit.”

Can the Foxes bounce back?

After a loss, the best thing that the Foxes can do is get right back to it with a win. This Saturday they have the opportunity to do just that against Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough.

Boro are 12th and haven’t won either of their last two games but before then were on a wicked run of form.

A win for Enzo Maresca’s side would ensure normality is resumed ahead of the international break.
