Leicester City make the trip down south to face Premier League outfit Bournemouth in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday evening.

The East Midlanders suffered a 3-1 defeat to promotion rivals Leeds United on Friday evening, having missed several big chances to put the game to bed.

Enzo Maresca must now get back to winning ways and what better way to do so than in the FA Cup, a competition Foxes fans will have fond memories of in recent years.

Leicester were crowned FA Cup champions in 2021 for the first time in their history after defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final.

So they’ll be eager to continue their recent success in the competition and advance to the quarter-finals with a victory over the Cherries.

Ahead of Tuesday’s clash, Maresca has been speaking to the media and confirmed that he’ll be making several changes.

So what may the starting line-up look like?

We’ll likely see Mads Hermansen’s understudy Jacub Stolarczyk start in goal, who has looked comfortable whenever he has been called upon.

Maresca is expected to rest many of his settled back four and could go with a youthful defence in Brandon Cover, Ben Nelson, Conor Coady and Callum Doyle.

Coady suffered a fractured foot in pre-season and has struggled to displace the settled partnership of Jannik Vestergaard and Wout Faes, but will likely get the opportunity to start here.

In midfield, Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will likely get a rest so perhaps Dennis Praet and Yunus Akgun could line up alongside Hamza Choudhury.

The attacking department is a little more difficult to predict, with Maresca’s plethora of options up front. With Jamie Vardy out injured, the Italian head coach will have the choice between Patson Daka, Tom Cannon and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Though, considering Daka has started most Championship games of late, it’ll likely be one of Iheanacho or Cannon. That’s where Maresca may have a selection dilemma.

Cannon is inexperienced compared to his striking competitor but has shown, in glimpses, that he is a natural finisher in his 13 appearances this season.

Iheanacho, on the other hand, will offer City something a little different with his natural tendency to drop deep and create chances for his teammates. So Maresca’s selection is very much dependent on how he intends to play against the Cherries.

Out wide, we may see Wanya Marcal given a sixth start of the season whilst veteran winger Marc Albrighton could feature instead of Kasey McAteer, who is a doubt for the game.

Leicester (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Cover, Nelson, Coady, Doyle; Choudhury, Praet; Albrighton, Akgun, Marcal; Iheanacho.
