Leicester City’s remarkable Premier League title win in 2016 will be a story told for decades to come.
Leicester were battling relegation the season prior and came into the season with odds as high as 5000/1 to win the league.
Nigel Pearson had been sacked and in came Claudio Ranieiri, which was an appointment met with a great deal of uncertainty.
But, as the story goes, Leicester lost just three games all season and finished at the summit with 81 points, 10 clear of second-placed Arsenal.
Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and N’Golo Kante were the most notable figures in the squad and all carved out tremendous careers in the following years.
However, it wasn’t a catalyst to success for all, as one player is now playing in the seventh tier of English football aged just 32

Liam Moore now playing for Spalding United
Liam Moore was once considered a future ‘England star’ whilst he was breaking through into the Leicester first-team.
Moore was fast tracked from the academy into Nigel Pearson’s side and was a key figure in the Championship promotion-winning campaign in 2014.
The ball-playing centre-back found opportunities limited in the Premier League but was part of Claudio Ranieiri’s squad in the infamous 2015-16 campaign after spending the first half of the season on loan at Bristol City.
Moore continued to impress for England’s under-21s and there was still little doubt he’d develop into a top player.
However, first forward to 2025, the now 32-year-old finds himself in the seventh tier of English football with Spalding United.
Spalding are currently ninth in the Southern League Premier Division Central, which is the tier below the National League South.
Injuries have plagued Moore’s career
Whilst Moore never quite reached the heights many expected of him, he still became one of the best defenders in the Championship with Reading for a time.
In fact, Moore was a target of a number of Premier League clubs in 2018 and Brighton made multiple bids worth up to £8m for his signature.
Unfortunately, injuries really plagued his career thereafter and after a spell in League One with Northampton Town, he dropped down to non-league last year.
Moore is still in his early thirties and perhaps could make a return to the football league at some stage.
