A Leicester City star has finally made his return to football after a lengthy injury lay-off.

The Foxes have had plenty of injury issues to deal with of late including the likes of Harry Winks, who was spotted back in Leicester training this week.

There are also long-term absentees like Ben Nelson, Ricardo Pereira, and Abdul Fatawu, who have all been ruled out for significant periods.

But there is some good news as one player who has been out since the summer returned to play for the Under-21s and has come back at a very important time.

Jakub Stolarczyk returns to play for Leicester Under-21s

One of those on the sidelines has been Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.

The Poland youth international hasn’t featured since the 3-0 win away at Preston North End that secured the Championship title in April.

Stolarczyk has been spotted in training recently but finally got his first minutes of the season after featuring in the club’s U21’s 1-1 draw against Everton, where he played the full 90 minutes.

Posting to Instagram, Stolarczyk said “It feels so good to be back playing after an injury.”

It comes at the perfect time as Mads Hermansen suffered a groin injury in the Foxes’ defeat at Newcastle United last weekend meaning that if he is out for a considerable amount of time, the number two could be forced to step up.

Stolarczyk is a well-liked member of the side and it was evident to see from his Instagram post as he was left inundated with messages from a number of his teammates.

Leicester academy graduates Kasey McAteer and Harvey Godsmark-Ford were among two of the Foxes stars to comment, with McAteer leaving a love heart emoji while Godsmark-Ford commented “pleasure” after playing in defence.

Tom Cannon, currently out on loan at Stoke City also commented with a clapping and love heart emoji.
