Former Leicester man Ian Baraclough has warned that Harry Winks will likely be ‘targeted’ by opponents, due to how good he is.
Leicester‘s Harry Winks has been one of the best players in the Championship this season with his ability clearly a level above.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joined Leicester in the summer for £10 million.
Just 11 league appearances into his time at the King Power, it is already clear he’s the best midfielder in the league.
This a sentiment shared by Ian Baraclough who spoke on the When You’re Smiling podcast.

Baraclough on Winks being targeted
Baraclough is a former Leicester youth prospect breaking through in 1988, before leaving for free in 1990.
On Winks, he said: “He will be targeted by the opposition, players will be told to be around him when he receives the ball.
“I’d suggest that over half the amount of times he receives it, he will be under pressure from the opposition.”
Baraclough then went on to defend any accusations of Winks playing it safe on the ball.
“Right, you might say that he might play his passes backwards and sideways.
“From the games I have been to live, I watch his movements, I watch when he receives it, I watch his body shape when he is receiving it and he looks to play forward and positive whenever he can.”
Too good of the league
Many have already decided that Winks is too good for the Championship.
His stats tell that same story as SofaScore shows.
A 95% average passing accuracy is ridiculous and shows how perfect he has been in helping implement the style that Enzo Maresca wants to see.
His job is to build play and keep possession and he does it excellently.
