Leicester are finally set to confirm the arrival of Cesare Casadei after agreement was reached last week.
Leicester picked up another three points over the weekend to make it two wins from two for Enzo Maresca.
This leaves the Foxes second only to the impressive Ipswich Town in the Championship table this season so far.
The game saw yet another dominant display which just struggled to convert into goals for Maresca’s side.
Another issue is despite the incredible possession levels, including 70% against Huddersfield, another midfielder who is comfortable and confident in possession was needed.
It seems finally that the Foxes have got their man.
Casadei deal to be completed
Leicester have been chasing the loan acquisition of Cesare Casadei for weeks, with it dragging on for seemingly no reason.
Now however, with Chelsea selling out a £115m on their second £100m plus midfielder in the last two windows, a deal is imminent.
With there being no route to first-team football, Casadei is now on his way to the King Power stadium.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted that: “Cesare Casadei will complete his move to Leicester on loan from Chelsea today. Documents are ready after deal agreed last week.”
He adds that Maresca has already spoken with Casadei ahead of his arrival, with Romano giving the move a final “here we go”.
Where could he play?
With Leicester lining up in a 4-3-3 at the weekend, we can assume Casadei would occupy one of these slots.
Chelsea haven’t allowed him to make the loan move to be on the bench either so we anticipate that he will take Dennis Praet’s role in midfield.
He will be a brilliant addition to the squad and the line-up with some true quality on the ball, as he is a player tipped to be a world beater in the future.
He is also a player who Chelsea are unlikely to need so a good season could result in a permanent move for the right price.
