Enzo Maresca has added to the growing excitement around Will Alves as the 18-year-old edges closer to first-team involvement.
Will Alves is believed to have been training with the Leicester City first-team last week which created a load of excitement.
At just 18, Alves is among the most exciting talents currently coming through the ranks at the club and with Enzo Maresca at the helm, many are dreaming of an academy player breaking through. This after bringing youth through has became prevalent, with new youngsters being linked with moves too.
Alves however has just returned from a lengthy 10-month layoff through an ACL injury. Therefore it is likely a while before a first-team appearance is on the cards, but a good first step.
But there is reason to be excited as Enzo Maresca is clearly a believer of Alves as he spoke on the youngster recently.

Maresca says Alves is special
As reported by Leicestershire Live, Maresca seems to be excited about the return of Alves.
“At the moment, because it was a very long injury, he has to work every day, train every day, enjoy every day, then slowly come with us,” Maresca said.
“But we’ll see. For sure, we’ve had him for a couple of sessions and we can see that he looks like he has something important, something special.”
High praise from a manager who has gotten little wrong this season so far which leaves reason to believe Alves is worth keeping an eye on.
After a few weeks of training and under-21 appearances, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Alves making appearances in the Championship. Especially with fixtures about to become even more congested than they already are right now.
It is important though to ease him back in and to avoid rushing, with an ACL nothing to play around and requires some serious attention.
