Leicester City took a huge step towards automatic promotion on Saturday, securing a 2-1 win against West Bromwich Albion to move four points clear of third-placed Leeds United.
Enzo Maresca‘s side needed a reaction following back-to-back defeats to Millwall and Plymouth Argyle and he certainly got that with the result, even if the performance wasn’t the most convincing.
Leicester rode their luck and had to rely on three goal-line clearances to get over the line but ultimately, all that mattered was the three points which moved them to 91, now needing two wins to mathematically secure a top-two finish.
Speaking post-match, former Foxes winger Matt Piper named the three standout performers at King Power Stadium.
Matt Piper hails three Leicester City players

The BBC Radio Leicester pundit hailed three Leicester players for their performance against West Brom yesterday.
“I think the three that I would look and speak about first are Jamie Vardy, Conor Coady, I thought he was terrific,” Piper said.
“Not just with the ball and with the performance and the art of defending.
“I think the characteristics that he brought to the team as well, leadership, man-to-man coaching points out on the field.
“That was really important today, you saw him dragging people in, telling people where to go.”
Piper continued: “The outstanding contributor this afternoon was Hamza Choudhury, I thought he was terrific.
“It wasn’t just the goal line clearances, it was his all-round performance.”

Hamza Choudhury’s best display in a Leicester City shirt
Yesterday’s display was perhaps Choudhury‘s best in a Leicester shirt.
The Foxes academy graduate was absolutely everywhere and as Piper alluded to, the three goal-line clearances he made saved the hosts from losing the affair.
Choudhury’s efforts were recognised not just by the media, who awarded him player of the match, but also by Maresca.
The Italian head coach warmly embraced him when the full-time whistle blew, as did his teammates.
Victory for City moved them two points clear at the summit and they could gain promotion on Tuesday if results go their way.
Should Leeds United suffer defeat away at Middlesbrough on Monday evening, Leicester will need a win against Southampton to book their place in the Premier League.
