Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi has been away from the King Power Stadium on international duty with Nigeria.
Wilfred Ndidi has had a good start to the season for Leicester City under manager Steve Cooper with the Foxes currently sitting in 15th place in the Premier League.
After being automatically promoted from the EFL Championship to the Premier League under former manager Enzo Maresca, who then departed for Chelsea, this campaign could have been a struggle but Cooper has steadied the ship in the East Midlands.
Part of the decent start to the season has been the solid performances from Ndidi and he has been called up to national duty with Nigeria.

Wilfried Ndidi’s international performances assessed
Ndidi started for Nigeria against Benin with the Eagles rescuing a late point against Benin with Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen scoring an equaliser.
According to Nigerian outlet Premium Times, Ndidi was given a positive 7/10 rating and was praised for his performance for the Eagles.
On Ndidi, who completed the full 90 minutes for The Eagles, they said: “Ndidi’s play was effective, leading in tackles, passes, and duels. He worked tirelessly in both defensive and offensive transitions.”
Apart from Osimhen, who scored the goal in the draw with Benin, Ndidi received the highest rating out of his teammates, which can only be good for the Foxes’ fans.
Next up for Nigeria and Ndidi is the Super Eagles’ clash with Rwanda at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Monday afternoon (4pm kick-off).
Wilfried Ndidi will be vital for Leicester staying up
The influence of Jamie Vardy in the goalscoring department is still there for all to see but Ndidi will have a key role to play if the Foxes are to remain in the Premier League.
As the season goes on, Ndidi will need to use his defensive nous and his tireless energy to perform well in the midfield department.
Since the beginning of this season, Ndidi has played in 11 Premier League games providing four assists for his teammates under Cooper.
Ndidi put pen to paper on a new contract at the King Power Stadium and the Nigerian will be vital for the Welshman.
