Leicester City have endured a torrid season up to now and find themselves in the relegation zone.

Leicester’s woes started the minute they appointed Steve Cooper, in truth, as the players failed to buy into his methods.

Cooper’s recruitment was also really poor as he spent a whopping £80m on a number of players who just aren’t up to Premier League level.

Oliver Skipp has been a disastrous signing given the £25m fee he cost whilst the likes of Caleb Okoli and Odsonne Eduoard have made little to no impact.

However, there is one summer signing who’s impressed and now he’s just been given a Player of the Year award for 2024.

Bilal El Khannouss wins Belgian Pro League Young Player of the Year

Bilal El Khannouss is, without a doubt, Leicester’s best signing of the summer having completed a £21m move from Genk.

The 20-year-old playmaker has quickly established himself as Ruud van Nistelrooy’s talisman and it won’t be long until the top six begin to circle for his signature.

In fact, El Khannouss’ former coach has tipped him to join Arsenal and believes he will move on to bigger and better than Leicester.

The Moroccan’s reputation continues to rise as he’s just been awarded the Belgian Pro League Young Player of the Year award for 2024.

El Khannouss was surprised he won the award

El Khannouss only plied his trade in the Pro League for half of the year as he joined City midway through 2024.

So after receiving his award, he admitted he was surprised to be named the winner.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect this at all. Of course I am very happy with this award,” El Khannouss told HLN.

“I want to thank Racing Genk, the players, staff, medical staff and especially the fans. Thanks to them I was able to make a nice step to the biggest league in the world. Thank you everyone!”
