Leicester City’s Premier League title win will be a story told until the end of time.

The Foxes overcame odds of 5000/1 to complete the greatest underdog story in not just football history, but perhaps even in sport.

Leicester were tipped by many to be relegated after they sacked Nigel Pearson for Claudio Ranieri in the summer of 2015.

Ranieri, labelled the Tinkerman, had just been dismissed by Greece and was viewed as a massive risk at the time.

But what followed, nobody could’ve expected, as they amassed 81 points whilst only conceding defeat on three occasions.

Reflecting on that mind-blowing season, Leicester legend Robert Huth revealed what was so strange during that time.

Robert Huth found it strange that nearly every Premier League supporter was supporting Leicester

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Leicester centre-back Robert Huth admitted that he found it so strange that nearly every Premier League supporter was cheering them on during the 2015/16 season.

“Probably the best time I’ve had being in football because everyone wanted you to win,” Huth said.

“Even Liverpool supporters, Tottenham supporters maybe not but everyone else in the country was supporting you.

“It was strange, normally when you fill up a car at a petrol station, you get a bit of rubbish but it was in fact the opposite, people really wanted you to push on and win the league.

“But yeah, in terms of our expectation, that wasn’t the case at all. We got to 10 games and we’re looking good then we went to 20 games looking good.

“Then at one point we realised what position we were in and pushed for it.”

Huth gives verdict on Leicester this season

Huth also gave his verdict on Leicester this season and admitted that staying by any means has to be the objective despite their past glories.

“It looked like there was going to be a points deduction at the start of the season so not getting one was a good start in itself.

“But where they are at the moment, I think they will take that at the end of the season. You just need to be better than three teams at the moment.

“It’s not easy for the fans to accept, especially after last year winning so many games and being so positive with their football.

“Now it’s a bit more defensive but that’s just the reality, you’ve just got to stay in the league by hook or by hook, whether it’s just by a point or a goal, it doesn’t really matter.

“The most important thing is staying in the league and that’s the main thing.”
