Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has sent a message to Jamie Vardy in his pre-Brighton press conference.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is gearing up for his second game in charge of Leicester City this weekend.
The Foxes boss is aiming to make it back-to-back wins following his arrival as Steve Cooper’s replacement.
The Dutchman guided the Midlands outfit to a 3-1 win over West Ham United earlier this week and will be hoping for a similar display this time around.
Brighton and Hove Albion, however, are sat 5th in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday and playing some superb football.
The Seagulls are sure to test Leicester’s leaky backline, which is currently one of the worst in the division.

In turn, with a clean sheet unlikely, Van Nistelrooy will be looking to his attackers and, in particular, Jamie Vardy to deliver the goods at the Amex.

Ruud van Nistelrooy message to Jamie Vardy before Brighton vs Leicester City
Last year marked the nine-year anniversary of Vardy breaking Van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in consecutive Premier League games.
Van Nistelrooy tweeted Vardy at the time and congratulated the Englishman on his accomplishment.
Now, when speaking to the media on Friday ahead of Brighton, as per Leicestershire Live, Ruud set his number nine a pretty impossible task.
When asked if he has forgiven Vardy for breaking his record, he outlined what the centre-forward must do to earn his forgiveness.
He said: “I said he has to break the record again, then I’ll be able to forgive him!”
While obviously, a tongue-in-cheek comment from the manager, it would be pretty insane if Vardy was able to do so.

Ruud van Nistelrooy explains how Jamie Vardy is evolving
Vardy is currently 37 years of age and will turn 38 in just over one month.
Despite his age, the Leicester legend remains at the top of his game and is their club’s top scorer this season.
Vardy has five goals in 13 Premier League matches in 2024/25 and in the same press conference, Van Nistelrooy explained how his top striker is adapting his game.
He said: “I was just turning 36 in July 2012 when I played my last game. It’s a process that’s slow from the start to the end of your career, when you’re constantly evolving.
“You don’t have to one day think about it, it goes through the years. Jamie is adapting with the game intelligence he has and knowing where he needs to be. You saw it with the timing of his run. He won’t lose that, he won’t ever lose that.”
