Leicester City host Leeds United in the Championship tonight.
Leicester City welcome 3rd place Leeds United to the King Power Stadium later tonight, with the Foxes looking to surpass the 40-point mark in what is only their 15th game of the season.
Enzo Maresca’s side have already won 13 of their opening 14 league games this season, giving them a points total of 39 compared to Leeds in 3rd on 25 points.
And giving his prediction for tonight’s game, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton wrote:
“A real heavyweight clash to kick things off on Friday night. Leicester City look imperious, unstoppable. They are breaking records everywhere, but this is surely their toughest challenge of the season so far.
“Leeds have as many points as Burnley did at the same stage last season, but they could well need to win here to try and keep track of the top two. It is a big, big game. I think the Foxes could well be held.”
Prutton predicts a 2-2 scoreline for tonight’s game.
Last season, Leicester beat Leeds 2-0 at home and drew the reverse fixture 1-1, with the Foxes having won their last two home games against the Whites.
Leicester City in for a tough night vs Leeds…
Leeds are one of the best attacking sides in the Championship. They have a number of players capable of scoring and creating goals, with their front-line also boasting some real speed too.
And this current Leeds side under Daniel Farke is much different to the one they faced last time round; they more organised and efficient now, albeit with some defensive frailties.
Leicester though remain the standout team this season and they’ll still be expected to win tonight, though Prutton thinks they might struggle to get all three points.
It’ll be a real test of Leicester’s mettle tonight, and a win for the Foxes would really set them apart from the rest of the chasing pack in the Championship.
Kick off is at 8pm.
