Steve Cooper among favourites to become Southampton manager
Steve Cooper probably feels like he was sacked way too prematurely now when he sees how bad it’s gone for the Foxes.
Cooper has a better points tally than Van Nistelrooy – despite taking charge of six fewer Premier League games before being given the chop.
The Welshman has waited patiently for his next opportunity and one report suggests he could get the last laugh as he has been deemed as one of the favourites for the Southampton job.
Ivan Juric was sacked by the Saints after relegation was confirmed and whilst Russell Martin could be in the Leicester dugout next season, Cooper could find himself in charge and a rival of Leicester once again.

Martin Allen suggests Leicester could re-sign James Maddison
One thing for sure is that Leicester will be one of the favourites for promotion if, and when, they are relegated.
Their lucrative budget and wage in comparison to others will no doubt make them an attractive proposition, as well as recruit a higher calibre of player and former Leicester manager Martin Allen thinks they can aim high.
Allen believes that the Foxes could possibly go back in for James Maddison, who is struggling for form at Tottenham Hotspur.
He told Tottenham Hotspur news: “Maddison isn’t going to be happy with the amount of games he has played. Which clubs would want to take him now? I wouldn’t imagine Forest would want to take him with their quality of forwards.
“Maybe a return to Leicester to return to the Championship, he’d get double figures in goals.“
A bold suggestion to say the least – but, who knows…
