Oliver Skipp was confirmed as the sixth summer signing at Leicester City for the 2024-25 season.

After spending 18 years at his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur, Oliver Skipp secured a permanent move away from north London, joining Leicester City.

The midfielder brings invaluable Premier League experience, despite his young age, and made 106 appearances in all competitions for Spurs before arriving at the King Power Stadium.

Skipp has only recently joined the Foxes so fans will be keen to know about his background and what to expect from their latest addition.

When did Oliver Skipp join Leicester City?

Skipp was confirmed by Leicester City on 19 August 2024. The midfielder signed for £20m with a future £5m expected in add-ons, as per Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old made his Spurs senior debut in October 2018, a month after celebrating his 18th birthday in a Carabao Cup fixture against West Ham United.

He then spent the 2020-2021 campaign on loan at Championship side Norwich City, featuring in 44 of their 46 league games as the Canaries secured promotion to the Premier League. His performances that year earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

Upon returning to Spurs, Skipp would make a further 83 appearances across the three years, taking his tally to 106 in total.

Skipp grew up with an older brother and sister named Will and Charlotte, as per The Athletic.

Although the name of his parents remains unknown, the report added that his dad is a professional accountant, historian, economist, and mathematician.

His mum meanwhile was also highly educated and she spends her time looking after their family and home.

Oliver Skipp’s international career

Yet to receive a senior call-up, Skipp has regularly featured for England throughout the youth levels.

He’s been capped at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-21 levels and was even managed by his new Leicester boss, Steve Cooper.

In 2023, Skipp was included in the Under-21 squad that reached the final of the European Under-21 Championships, where he was a second-half substitute as England beat Spain.

Oliver Skipp’s salary

Oliver Skipp’s Leicester salary hasn’t been revealed yet but according to Capology, his most recent earnings at Spurs saw him earn £40,000-a-week which equates to £2,080,000 per year.
