Leicester City travel to the South Coast on Tuesday evening to face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Having suffered successive defeats to Middlesbrough and Leeds United, The Foxes must get back to winning ways, though, they are up against Premier League opposition this evening.
Enzo Maresca is expected to make several changes, with a league clash against Queens Park Rangers clearly in his thoughts, so it could be a pretty inexperienced 11 by all accounts.
Victory for Leicester will see them advance to the quarter-finals of the competition but BBC Football pundit Chris Sutton isn’t sure that’ll be the case.
Chris Sutton makes Leicester City prediction v Bournemouth
The East Midlands club will of course be the underdogs this evening as they face a Bournemouth side a division above them.
Chris Sutton, in his BBC Football predictions article, has predicted the outcome of tonight’s game and fancies the Cherries to take the win.
“Bournemouth have gone seven games without a win in the Premier League but they were unlucky to be beaten by Manchester City on Saturday,” the former Celtic and Blackburn Rovers forward said.
“Despite that run of results, the Cherries have still got a bit of breathing space above the bottom three, and have only reached the quarter-finals twice before in their entire history, so why wouldn’t they go strong for this one?
I fancy Andoni Iraola’s side here. Leicester have had a brilliant season in the Championship but they have lost their past two games and still have some work to do to secure automatic promotion.”
Sutton predicts it’ll be a 2-1 win for Iraola’s team tonight, though, he did note the Cherries are on a poor run of form of late.
Leicester City catching Bournemouth at a good time
Leicester face a Bournemouth side who have endured a pretty poor run of form in recent weeks, having failed to win in their seven league games.
Their last win came on Boxing Day, as they secured a 3-0 win over Marco Silva’s Fulham side, so perhaps The Foxes will be the more confident team coming into this one.
Despite City’s recent defeats, they still sit at the summit of the Championship table, six points clear of second-placed Leeds United.
So it wouldn’t at all be surprising if Leicester pulled off a cup upset tonight, especially if they can rediscover their clinical edge.
