Leicester moved back into pole position in the Championship last night, as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was on fire.

Leicester welcomed Preston North End to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening. A dominant 3-0 win for the Foxes over a team who looked like early contenders.

But after last nights win, now Leicester find themselves seven points clear of third, with a plus 15 goal difference.

It also moves Enzo Maresca’s side above a now second placed Ipswich Town, with the two sides set to meet on Boxing Day in just over two months.

With a good performance all round, it is difficult to pick out an individual top performer, there was one clear man of the match, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Dewsbury-Hall impressive

Dewsbury-Hall has shown flashes of his greatness this season already, but put in his best display yet against Preston.

Playing the full game, he scored two of Leicester’s three goals as he claimed the man of the match award.

He also had 56 touches in the game, with which he completed 95% of his 39 attempted passes.

Dewsbury-Hall won 100% of his duels in the game too as he proved a formidable all round central-midfielder for Maresca.

This was only made clearer with his clearance, two interceptions and three tackles.

According to Leicestershire Live, following the game, Maresca had this to say about his star man: “To be honest, I’m especially happy for Kiernan because he is improving in the decision-making and in the choices,”.

Maresca said after the win over Preston. “If you remember in the first game, he was shooting from his house! He was shooting from everywhere!”
