A Leicester City target shone against Manchester United on Sunday.

Leicester are anticipated to have a busy summer transfer window if they are to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca‘s side currently reside at the summit of the Championship table following their 2-1 win against West Bromwich Albion on the weekend.

They moved four points clear of Leeds United, who occupy third place, and now need two wins from their last three games to seal a top-two finish.

With promotion looking pretty likely, it seems Leicester chiefs are plotting their transfer targets behind the scenes.

One of their rumoured targets shone at Wembley yesterday.

Leicester have lacked a creative midfielder this term following the departure of James Maddison to Tottenham Hotspur.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has certainly stepped up to fill that void but even still, he occupies a slightly deeper role and is often the driving force from midfield.

A playmaker who occupies the pockets is what Maresca’s side have missed at times and they were linked with Coventry City’s Callum O’Hare in Janaury, who would fit that profile.

According to The Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse, City were monitoring the 25-year-old along with Burnley, Southampton and clubs in LaLiga.

O’Hare was in action against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final clash yesterday and netted the Sky Blues’ second goal.

He appeared to grow in confidence thereafter and started to dictate the tempo, looking every inch of a Premier League player.

Despite missing a penalty in the shootout, it was a performance that certainly would’ve sparked interest, so City need to act fast in launching a proposal for his services.

Leicester City need to move quickly

O’Hare is out of contract in the summer and after his display at United, he’s expected to attract a lot of potential suitors.

The former Aston Villa ace has registered 14 goal contributions in 19 starts this season after returning from a long injury layoff.

He hasn’t extended his contract at Coventry so he’ll be available on a free transfer at the end of June when it expires.

City need to move quickly on the deal to beat rivals to his signature, which will likely be highly sought after.
