Dewsbury-Hall and two players Leicester City may have to sell even if they are promoted

Reports emerged on Wednesday evening suggesting that Leicester City are in danger of breaching Profit and Sustainability regulations even if they gain promotion to the Premier League.

The English Football League believes The Foxes are on course to break financial rules this season and that could result in a possible points deduction, as per The Guardian.

As such, Leicester are under huge financial pressure and may be forced to sell some of their key assets in the summer.

With that said, here’s a look at who they may have to sell before the end of the financial year in June.

Many City fans were left bewildered when reports surfaced in January that the club were in talks with Brighton and Hove Albion over the potential sale of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Foxes set a £30m asking price on their talisman, though, that was more than what the South Coasters were willing to outlay, as per The Athletic.

Given the recent news, it now makes more sense why Leicester had a pricetag for Dewsbury-Hall, as their financial position was clearly a concern back then, too.

Should they need to raise funds at the end of the season, the 25-year-old would likely be the first player transfer listed, as he is the most valuable in the squad with a Transfermarkt value of £25.6m.

Wout Faes

Wout Faes has been a colossus for Leicester this term and is perhaps their second most valuable asset behind the aforementioned Dewsbury-Hall.

The 11-cap Belgium international would certainly attract a number of suitors if he was made available in the summer.

Faes has a market value of £17m, though, City would likely only sanction a sale for a fee closer to £30m given his age.

At 25, the ball-playing centre-back is still in the development phase of his career and isn’t in his prime years.

Patson Daka

Leicester tried to move Patson Daka on last summer and he was close to signing for Bournemouth on a season-long loan, with an option to buy. But ultimately, the Premier League outfit failed to get the deadline day deal over the line.

Having netted seven times whilst laying on four assists in 13 appearances this term for the table-toppers, The Zambian forward wouldn’t be short of interest.

City outlaid £23m on his signature in 2021, so they’d be hopeful of recouping the majority of that fee providing he continues his prolific record in the Championship.
