It is safe to say that Jamie Vardy could never have envisaged the impact he would’ve had at Leicester City when he joined the club in 2012.
The Foxes paid a non-league record of £1 million to sign Vardy from Fleetwood Town after he scored 31 times in the Conference during the 2011/12 season.
In his 11-year stint at the King Power, the now 36-year-old has won a Premier League title and set the record for scoring in 11 consecutive top-flight games.
Former boss Brendan Rodgers hailed Vardy as an ‘icon‘ last season, and his previous experience in England’s second tier could prove crucial under new manager Enzo Maresca.

What can Vardy offer Leicester this season?
With other centre-forward options Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho continuously being linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium, Vardy could be the only recognised striker at the club.
In his last Championship campaign, Vardy bagged 16 goals as Leicester went on to win the title by nine points with a tally of 102.
Although he may not have as much pace as he once did, the 36-year-old is very clever with his movement off the shoulder of the deepest defender.
His movement will allow for chances aplenty in the second tier, which coupled with his finishing ability could be a problem for any opposition defence.

The former Fleetwood frontman had a disappointing campaign last time around by his standards.
He scored six times in 42 appearances across all competitions, his lowest tally since his first Premier League campaign in 2014/15.
However, this season Vardy will be looking for redemption. It could well be his last season at the Foxes with his current deal expiring at the end of the campaign.
Vardy will want to go out on a high, scoring goals, as he’s done his whole career, whilst helping fire Leicester back into the Premier League.
