Leicester City are sinking towards the Championship and rather pitifully.

Leicester have suffered defeat in 10 of their last 11 games and now reside five points adrift of 17th-placed Wolves.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been far too conservative with his team selections, as he’s often starting Jordan Ayew and Bobby De Cordova Reid.

The flair players like Stephy Mavididi and Facundo Buonanotte just haven’t had a fair run in the team under his stewardship.

And nor have the academy stars, who are currently ripping it up for the under-21s in the Premier League 2.

So, here’s what Van Nistelrooy’s side should actually look like for the remainder of the season.

The starting XI Ruud van Nistelrooy should play

Leicester’s academy is in its golden era at the moment.

It was once a rarity to have an England youth international on City’s books, but now, there’s a plethora of them.

Indeed, Jeremy Monga is perhaps the most exciting talent coming through the ranks at Seagrave right now, but Jake Evans and Louis Page are also making real noise for the under-21s.

All three are representing England’s youth teams, so quite clearly, they’re considered among the best teenagers in the country.

With that said, Van Nistelrooy quite simply has to incorporate them into his first-team plans as they’re ready to make an immediate impact.

Here is the starting line-up the Dutchman should field for the rest of the campaign.

Hermansen; Coulibaly, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Soumare, Ndidi; Evans, El Khannouss, Monga; Vardy.

Jake Evans and Jeremy Monga should be starting for Leicester

Louis Page is probably a little behind Monga and Evans in terms of starting for the first team, however, he should be included in matchday squads and eased into action off the bench.

But for Monga and Evans, they’re ready. The teenage attackers are ripping it up every week in the reserve league against players six years their senior.

Plus, with Manchester City trying to sign Monga this summer, it seems these final 11 games of the season might be the last chance to see him in a City shirt.

Or, perhaps the England under-16 captain may decide to stay if he’s given regular playing time and an immediate platform to play senior football.

It’s time to take a risk and start the academy stars Van Nistelrooy.
