Leicester City kick off their 2024 pre-season campaign on Tuesday, July 23rd, with a meeting versus Shrewsbury Town.

Leicester City begin their official pre-season fixtures on Tuesday evening against Shrewsbury Town.

New manager Steve Cooper will be looking to hit the ground running in the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Cooper spent the last week in France with the Foxes for a warm-weather training camp, which included two behind-closed-doors friendlies against Villarreal.

The matches were 60 minutes long, with two different elevens starting each game. Leicester came out as 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Jamie Vardy and Stephy Mavididi.

Their proper pre-season takes place in England and kicks off this evening at 7:45pm BST against Shrewsbury at New Meadow.

Leicester City team news

Leicester finished top of the Championship in 2023/24, with their superb injury record a key reason why.

While most of their promotion rivals suffered heavily on the fitness front, the Midlands outfit kept the majority of their key names fit throughout the season.

Leicester played out their final game of 2023/24 versus Blackburn Rovers without any players missing due to injury.

And after beating Villarreal last week, Cooper’s side are still without a single absentee ahead of facing Shrewsbury.

This excellent record could be crucial in Leicester avoiding relegation in 2024/25.

How will Leicester City line up vs Shrewsbury Town

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has backed Cooper well so far this summer, signing four first-team players.

New additions Issahaku Fatawu, Caleb Okoli, and Michael Golding all played some part in the 2-1 win over Villarreal in France last week.

However, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who made the move to the King Power from Fulham on a free transfer, was not included in either eleven.

As a result, the 31-year-old winger is expected to see some action when Leicester travel to Shrewsbury this week.
