Leicester City picked up their second successive Premier League victory on the weekend, as they defeated Southampton 3-2 on the South Coast.

The Foxes now have a six-point buffer on the relegation heading into Friday’s crunch clash against East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest.

Leicester could move up to ninth with victory, so it’s a chance for Steve Cooper’s side to really take a stride forward and out of the relegation conversation.

Leicester team news vs Nottingham Forest

Patson Daka remains sidelined with an ankle injury, though, it’s understood that he is making progress in his recovery.

Last week, Cooper said that Daka is back on the grass but remains unavailable for first-team training as he continues his rehab programme.

Hamza Choudhury and Jakub Stolarczyk remain absent, too.

Leicester predicted XI as Cooper starts Abdul Fatawu

Mads Hermansen assumes his usual spot in between the sticks with a slightly changed back four ahead of him.

Ricardo Pereira steps in for James Justin, who was at fault for the second goal against Southampton after being beaten far too easily by Kyle Walker-Peters.

Wout Faes, Caleb Okoli and Viktor Kristiansen make up the rest of the defence with Wilfred Ndidi and Harry Winks just in front.

Winks came on as a substitute on the weekend and certainly staked his claim to start against Forest as he was able to gain control of the midfield.

Abdul Fatawu was another who completely changed the game from the bench, so he must also make Cooper’s XI.

Facundo Buonanotte, Stephy Mavididi and the ever-reliable Jamie Vardy make up the rest of City’s attack.

Leicester XI (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Ndidi, Winks; Fatawu, Buonanotte, Mavididi; Vardy.
