Leicester City may be back in the Championship but their history remains great, here is our all-time Leicester City XI.

Leicester City‘s pinnacle came in the 2015-16 season when they won the Premier League title in what is the most shocking moment in the league’s history.

Pre-season they were among the favourites to be relegated, only to defy every expectation and lift the trophy under the tutelage of Claudio Ranieri.

So as you’d imagine our all-time Leicester City XI includes several stand-out performers from that team.

Here is our all-time predicted Leicester City XI…

GK – Gordon Banks

One of the toughest calls to make, Gordon Banks gets the nod ahead of Kasper Schmeichel for this line-up.

Schmeichel can’t be argued against after helping Leicester to a Premier League and an FA Cup, but Banks is a legend of English football and slightly edges him.

Banks won the World Cup with England and won the League Cup for Leicester in 1964.

RB – John Sjoberg

John Sojberg made 169 appearances for Leicester and is undoubtedly among the best defenders to ever feature for the club.

The Scottish man was rock solid for the Foxes and deserves a tonne of praise due to his brilliant defensive work.

CB – Steve Walsh

With 141 appearances for Leicester, Steve Walsh gets the nod in central defence.

The Englishman was at Leicester for 14 years until he joined Norwich in 2000.

He played a key role in Leicester’s two League Cup triumphs in 1997 and 2000.

CB – Wes Morgan

Captain Wes Morgan wore the armband during the 2015-16 season which is no doubt the crowning moment of the club’s recent history.

Also part of the FA Cup-winning side, Morgan had the best career he could’ve hoped for at Leicester.

Therefore, with 323 appearances for the club, he is a shoo-in for this team.

LB – Keith Weller

A Leicester City legend after arriving from Chelsea, Keith Weller made over 300 appearances for the club and earned himself four England caps.

A player who no doubt deserves the praise he has long got from Foxes fans as he performed excellently over a long period..

RM – Riyad Mahrez

Possibly the most talented and aesthetically pleasing player that the Premier League has seen in recent memory, Riyad Mahrez was a real find for the club.

179 appearances saw him score 48 and assist 38 goals. He was crucial in the Premier League title-winning squad and despite going on to win a treble with Manchester City, he will always be remembered for his outstanding Leicester career.

CM – Ngolo Kante

N’Golo Kante was potentially the most important player in the Premier League title charge back in 2016.

He burst onto the scene and was heralded as a top midfielder immediately thanks to his tenacious running and the amount of ground he covered which made Leicester seem to have a four-man midfield at times.

CM – Danny Drinkwater

The other Premier League-winning midfielder gets included too, primarily for that one season where he and Kane were untouchable.

Drinkwater made 218 appearances for the club with 15 goals and 23 assists.

Sold for a healthy fee at the right time leaves a fond memory of Drinkwater in our minds.

LM – Marc Albrighton

Leicester’s second highest assister of all time according to Transfermarkt, Marc Albrighton deserves his place in the all-time XI.

204 appearances along with 19 goals and 47 assists underplay his value to Leicester over the years.

Key in the Premier League triumph and also in the FA Cup win, Albrighton is undoubtedly among the club legends.

ST – Gary Lineker

Striker number one, Gary Lineker is a true great of English football which is why he features in this team.

56 goals in 96 games for the Leicester City fan who has continued his affinity with the club throughout his career despite playing for other teams like Barcelona.

ST – Jamie Vardy

Out of everyone in this team, Jamie Vardy is the most obvious as Mr Leicester stands as the club’s best-ever player.

With 175 goals and 69 assists through 444 appearances, Vardy has seen it all at Leicester. Promotions, relegations and trophies, what a career for the striker.

Undoubtedly a player who deserves to be on this list.
