Leicester City look near certain to suffer relegation straight back to the Championship.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have lost 10 of their last 11 Premier League games and are currently five points adrift of safety.

Leicester have failed to score in a record-breaking six-straight home games, evincing just how poor the attacking options are, especially out wide.

Bobby De Cordova Reid and Jordan Ayew as a winger pairing hardly pose any threat at all, with the absence of Abdul Fatawu notable.

If indeed the Foxes suffer relegation, here is how their starting XI could look come the start of next season.

Leicester could sign Rav van den Berg after losing several players

Come August, Leicester’s squad could look a whole lot different with the likes of Mads Hermansen, Bilal El Khannouss, Wout Faes and Wilfred Ndidi all leaving the club.

Van Nistelrooy will have a big rebuild on his hands, though, fortunately, he’ll have the luxury of bringing through a number of talented players from the academy.

On top of that, the Dutchman could finally get his wish of signing centre-back, with the £15m addition of Middlesborough’s Rav van den Berg.

Leicester are aware Boro want £20m for van den Berg, however, perhaps they could strike an agreement for a little less given the Teesiders look set to remain in the Championship, giving them less negotiating power.

Leicester’s potential starting XI in the Championship

With all that said, here is the starting line-up van Nistelrooy could field in August.

Jakub Stolarczyk replaces the departed Hermansen.

The back four is all change, most notably at centre-back as new signing Van den Berg partners academy graduate Ben Nelson following his loan spell at Oxford United.

Stepping into midfield Harry Winks lines up alongside Boubakary Soumare, who’s been impressive under Van Nistelrooy.

15-year-old wonderkid Jeremy Monga, who will be 16 by the time next season swings around, starts off the left with Will Alves and Abdul Fatawu forming the rest of the attack.

Patson Daka leads the line with Jamie Vardy likely to leave upon the expiry of his contract, though, Jake Evans will be providing stiff competition.
