Steve Cooper will be hoping the Leicester City hierarchy can provide him more additions ahead of the start of the Premier League.
Leicester City have just two weeks until their opening game of the season at home against Tottenham Hotspur on August 19.
Steve Cooper has seen four players signed this summer, but there have not been any new arrivals in three weeks and the squad looks worryingly light with so little time before the Premier League kicks off.
The Foxes frustratingly missed out on winger target Matias Soule who instead opted to join AS Roma from Juventus, but look to be edging closer to a deal for Watford wide man Yaser Asprilla.
Cooper’s side are also linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Arthur who revived his career on loan at Fiorentina last season after a dismal campaign at Liverpool in 2022/23 where he played just 13 minutes.
Now, another reported target could open the door for a current Leicester player to leave on loan which will likely be very welcome news.

David Datro Fofana signing could allow Tom Cannon to leave Leicester City on loan
With Kelechi Iheanacho leaving at the start of the summer following the expiration of his contract, Leicester have been left with Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka and Tom Cannon as centre-forward options.
Cannon struggled after signing last summer and scored just two Championship goals.
Still only 21, it was expected that Cannon would be allowed to go on loan this summer to gain more valuable senior experience with a view to returning an improved player.
However, Vardy’s injury troubles this summer are likely to see him miss the start of the season which threw Cannon’s chances of leaving on loan into doubt.
Now, though, Leicester are the frontrunners to sign Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana on loan for the season in a move that would then mean Cooper could be comfortable allowing Cannon to spend the season elsewhere.
Cannon needs regular game time away from Leicester
Cannon impressed on loan at Preston North End from Everton in the 2022/23 season, scoring eight goals in 20 games in his half a season at Deepdale.
That form convinced Leicester to spend £7.5 million to sign the promising youngster following their Premier League relegation last summer.
The striker struggled for game time ahead of Vardy, Daka and Iheanacho as Leicester won the Championship title, though.

Therefore, a loan this season looks the best option for Cannon to rediscover his scoring form and play regular football away from the spotlight of the Premier League and a move for Fofana could now make that possible.
